Selecting articles

When creating a campaign you need to select articles. Which articles are appropriate and what if you are unable to find an article?

There are a number of factors that affect the delivery of your advertisements. It is important to pay close attention to this when selecting articles.

  • Breadcrumbs
Check that the breadcrumbs for your article are correct, as these are also the categories in which your advertisements will appear.
  • Product specifications
All product specifications must be entered correctly. For example, is a brand, publisher or genre missing? Then you cannot advertise the article.
  • Price stars
The more price stars you have, the better your organic ranking will be. This automatically means that your advertisements will be shown more often.
  • Sales block
Is your article not in the best sales position? Then you do not have a sales block and you cannot advertise with it. You can find more information here.
  • Article photos and description
Good product information affects your organic ranking. The higher your organic ranking is, the better your advertisement scores.

The number of items in your sponsored products campaign

We recommend placing a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 to 20 products in a campaign. This way, you ensure that you keep the right overview of the results of the various articles and keywords. It also ensures that you keep a grip on the campaign. How? Because you know exactly which articles are displayed when a visitor uses a keyword you advertise on. If you place too many articles in your campaign, you will lose track of the results faster and this results in less efficient campaigns.

Blacklist

Advertising at sponsored products is allowed on all articles offered by bol.com, otherwise indicated by the advertising code committee, for example by regulations. This includes infant formula (0 to 6 months) and special medicines.
