From 1 September 2023, there are new rules for the sale of car seats in the EU. The new safety standard R129 (i-Size) replaces the old standard R44. This means that shops may now only sell car seats that meet the new standard. This standard can be found on a sticker on the item. Seats with a length range for the child are approved according to the new R129 standard (i-Size).

If there’s no length range in centimetres (cm) on the seat, it’s an R44 seat. The number 44 or 129 that can be seen on the sticker also helps you recognise the model. Since 1 September 2024, all car seats sold must meet the new standard. R44 seats may therefore no longer be sold via bol.
