To make the advertisements on bol as relevant as possible, we are constantly innovating. Recently, we tested the dynamic positioning of sponsored products on the category pages. With success, we generally see an improved CTR (Click-Through-Rate), meaning greater relevance for your products. That's why we rolled out this approach widely.

What is dynamic ranking? 

Advertisements will be dynamically displayed throughout category pages, based on (customer) relevance. The number of sponsored product positions on a list page remains the same (between 2 and 6 positions) but the position of sponsored products may change, depending on the category. This may vary by device and screen size. The first two positions are always sponsored products, regardless of the category.  

 

What does this mean for advertisers? 

This new ranking method does not impact the operation of the algorithm and bidding system of the auction for advertisers. Only the placement of sponsored positions may change. For now, this innovation is only available on category pages. In future, it will also be available on search result pages.  

For you as an advertiser, this means that your products may be more visible on certain category pages and generate more clicks on the list page. As a result, your daily limit may be reached faster. Therefore, we recommend closely monitoring your ongoing campaigns and adjust accordingly.
