Connection refused / timeout
This surfaces directly following an attempt to connect. The connection is either refused immediately or times out after a certain amount of time.
Common causes:
- IP address not on allow-list
- Bad hostname or port
- Firewall
- Incompatible software
Verifying connection details
The first step is to verify the connection details:
- Hostname: ftpes://supplier.unftp.bol.com
- Authentication type: Explicit TLS
- Username: <SupplierID_SupplierName>
- Password: <password>
- Bol FTP server IP: 79.170.100.0/22
- Bol FTP server ports: 21 and 60000 to 602000
Note: Some FTP clients support using the url: ftpes://supplier.unftp.bol.com as shorthand to quickly configure protocol and encryption.
A ready to import configuration for FileZilla can be found here. It can be imported using File > Import. The bol server will then show up as Bol FTPS (newspaper)
