Boekverkoop via bol
Bol volgt de Wet op de vaste boekenprijs. Als een uitgever een melding heeft gemaakt bij het Commissariaat van de media dan is het wettelijk verplicht om als (web)winkel die vaste prijs te hanteren.
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Als je gebruik maakt van AI-gegenereerde content voor boeken dan vragen we je dit aan te geven bij de productspecificaties. Bij bol maken we onderscheid tussen AI-gegenereerde boeken en AI-geassisteerde boeken
AI-gegenereerde boeken
AI-gegenereerde boeken zijn boeken waarbij tekst, foto’s of vertalingen gegenereerd zijn door een op AI-gebaseerde tool (bijvoorbeeld ChatGPT). Met andere woorden, als je een AI-tool gebruikt om content te creëren dan wordt dit beschouwd als AI-gegenereerd, zelfs als er daarna substantiële bewerkingen zijn aangebracht.
AI-geassisteerde boeken
Als een auteur zelf de content/tekst heeft gecreëerd, en een op AI-gebaseerde tool heeft gebruikt om bijvoorbeeld spelfouten te herkennen of de tool gebruikt om te brainstormen over ideeën maar waarbij de auteur zelf de tekst heeft gecreëerd.

Discrimination in books
Being the shop for us all means that everyone should be able to shop with us and feel welcome. Feeling welcome doesn’t go together with an offer that causes discrimination or hatred and can therefore be offensive. To be able to properly assess what’s experienced as discriminatory or offensive, we take our customers’ and partners’ feedback very seriously. We also discuss these things with governments and external experts.
We believe that it’s important to handle freedom of speech carefully. That’s why we want to sell as many books as possible. However, in exceptional cases, we may decide not to sell certain books or take them offline. This applies to books that call on people to discriminate or hate. For other books that may offend people, we may decide to provide them with a special label. This label contains additional information about the possible risks.
Amazon Kindle
Amazon Kindle e-readers aren’t compatible with our e-book range. We want to prevent our customers from buying a book that they can’t read. That’s why we don’t sell Amazon Kindle e-readers via our platform.
Second-hand
Second-hand items can only be offered in the product categories of books, music, games, and films. You can’t request sales rights for the other product categories. It isn’t possible to offer second-hand items other than books, music, games, and films via bol.
Condition of used books
- Like new: In excellent condition, undamaged and suitable as a gift
- Good: Traces of use present but in good condition. May have a buts or a scratch and light creases in the spine
- Fair: Intensely used book, bent spine, creases, scratches, dog-ears, bumps and/or light discolouration. No critical damage such as loose, missing pages, tears, markings or water damage.
Product information in driving and boating licence books
If the product information of an item changes, this usually means that the EAN also changes. However driving and boating licence books are an exception. For these books, you can change the titel and still use the same EAN.
