Children’s idols aimed at children up to 12 years old can’t be used in advertising, packaging, and point-of-sale materials (in-store promotions) via the bol platform. Children’s idols are figures (including drawn and/or animated figures) who are known through media specifically aimed at children, such as television programmes, films, online videos, blogs, comics, books, and/or games. Well-known examples are:

  • Paw Patrol
  • Minions
  • LOL Surprise!
  • Peppa Pig
  • Spongebob Squarepants
  • Frozen
  • Hello Kitty
  • My Little Pony
  • Looney Tunes
  • Toy Story

Cartoon and/or animated figures developed by or commissioned by the advertiser themselves aren’t covered by the description of the children’s idol, such as the Haribo bear. For more information, please visit the website of the Dutch Advertising Code Foundation.
