Some items have safety information included on the packaging. This is important information, because it assures our customers of both high-quality and safe items. In addition, European guidelines prescribe that you must also put the safety information on the product page. More information about these regulations can be found here.
The mandatory safety information can be found on the item’s packaging. The detailed safety information is on the Safety Data Sheet (SDS). The SDS can be requested from the item’s seller.
The SDS is important for product groups with items that contain hazardous substances, such as superglue, washing-up liquid and detergents.
For each item, fill in the requested characteristics. These must be the same as the safety information on the product’s label on the packaging:
- SIGNAL WORD: ‘Danger’ or ‘Warning’.
- HAZARD STATEMENT(S): these can be found on the label under the heading ‘hazard statements’. These can be recognised by the H-phrases on the SDS.
- PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENT(S): these are the recommended precautions. These can be recognised by the P-phrases on the SDS.
H and P phrases are used on labels and safety data sheets for hazardous substances. H phrases indicate the danger of a substance, while P phrases indicate which safety measures you should take when using it.
