To ensure customer safety, it’s mandatory under Cosmetics Regulation EC 1223/2009 that a qualified safety assessor assesses and deems every item safe before it’s sold. The responsible organisation (also known as the Responsible Person) is a person or a company. At all times, they must be able to show a valid safety assessment report (Cosmetic Product Safety Report, CPSR) from the safety assessor. This report must state that the product is safe and that it meets all legal safety requirements.

Just to double-check, we may ask you to show this safety assessment. Cosmetics must be made and packaged according to fixed hygiene rules (ISO 22716).

If there’s a serious suspicion that your range may be dangerous to the customer, we may (temporarily) take your items offline to assess them. The item’s responsible organisation is required to ensure that the correct documentation is available. We need this, for example, when an item needs to be assessed.
