Deliveries to our warehouses are not possible without a valid pre-announcement in the Supply Chain portal.
Pre-announcement is a general term used within bol for managing packinglist. With a pre-announcement you inform bol when a shipment is going to be deliverd.
A pre-announcement can can consist of multiple packinglists and/or shipments. When creating the pre-announcement and delivering the shipment, keep the delivery terms in mind.
Pre-announcements serve as the basis for the invoices of SCP suppliers. The system generates invoices based on the pre-announcements that have been created. Products that are not included in the pre-announcement will not appear on the invoice and therefor cannot be invoiced.
Creating a pre-annoucement
A pre-announcement can be created through the Supply Chain portal (SCP). EDI suppliers can create a pre-announcement with a DESADV message.
What information is communicated through a pre-announcement
By creating the pre-announcement you let bol know:
- What the packinglist ID is
- Which products are going to be delivered
- How many of the products are going to be deliverd
- Which order these products come from
- How the shipment is going to be deliverd (pallet or collo)
- When the shipment is going to be deliverd
Pre-alert is a general term used by bol logistics for managing packing slips. Bol uses a pre-alert to inform you when to deliver an order.
Suppliers can create packing slip numbers in the Supply Chain Portal.
The term ‘pre-alert’ is known by SCP Suppliers because they select the articles manually and actually pre-notify. The term ‘DESADV message’ is used for EDI Suppliers.
To create a pre-alert, choose ‘Create Shipment’ in the portal to create a new shipment. A manual pre-notification consists of sixsteps.
