Adding multiple images at once

Through a content sheet or the online data editor, multiple images can be added to products at once.

Adding multiple images at once via Excel or the online data editor

Multiple images can be submitted at once through a content sheet. To submit them correctly, a URL is required for each image. Our system will use this URL to locate the image, download it, and upload it to the product.

Creating a URL

A URL can be created in two ways:

  1. Via your own website
Place the image on your website and right-click on the image. Depending on your browser or operating system, you can directly copy the link. In some cases you may need to go to ‘Properties’ first.
  2. Via an image hosting site
These are websites where you can (freely) upload images. Your image will be linked to a URL that you can use to add images to the content sheet. Our systems cannot read all image hosting sites, but some examples of sites that can be used are: Google Photos, MijnAlbm, Imgur and Flickr.

Note: The above websites are merely suggestions, and bol has no in-depth knowledge of these websites. Therefore their use is at your own risk.

URL requirements

There are several conditions that apply to URLs. If these conditions are not met, our system will be unable to process the URLs. The requirements are:

  • Image URLs can be identified by their extension, or the end of the URL. They must end with: .jpg, .jpeg or .png.
  • Shortened URLs are not accepted
  • The images must be hosted in a public environment that is not secured. Some URLs are protected with a log-in, which is not something our system can proces.
  • The images must be directly downloadable from the URL. Some hosting sites link to a preview image. Preview images are oten not downladable, or if they are, the image is often too small.
  • Dropbox URLs cannot be used for adding images. This is because Dropbox does not support the use of URLs as image links, which results in error messages.
  • Each individual image needs its own URL.
  • URLs cannot contain spaces.

Note: When uploading images, please adhere to the general terms and conditions for images, which can be found here.

Uploading URLs

The URLs can be submitted in two different ways:

  • Uploading a content sheet
  • Through the online data editor
