Receiving a violation, Yellow or Red Card

Why are cards and violations assigned to shipments?

Shipments delivered to bol must meet the delivery terms and conditions and comply with bol’s house rules. This helps ensure shipments are processed quickly and efficiently and that inbound processes run as smoothly as possible.

A Yellow Card, Red Card or violation is assigned when a shipment, or part of a shipment, does not meet these conditions or rules.

I have received a violation. What now?

Sometimes an issue is only discovered after the driver has left. In that case, you will receive a violation.

Below you can find an explanation of each violation, including why it was assigned and which actions you can take to prevent it from happening again

A violations serves as a heads up! Check your processes to determine whether it was a one-time deviation from the standard of if improvements need to be made.

V1 – No SSCC on load carrier

Violation explanation:

There is no SSCC label on the pallet or package.

Actions:

Make sure every pallet or package has a clearly readable and scannable SSCC label that meets the delivery requirements.

V2 – SSCC not unique

Violation explanation:

The SSCC label on the pallet or package has already been used before.

Actions:

Always use a unique SSCC label that meets the delivery requirements. Do not reuse an SSCC label.

V3 – Content of DESADV deviates from SSCC label

Violation explanation:

The SSCC label on the pallet does not match the SSCC code in the advance shipping notice.

Actions:

Before sending the shipment, check that the SSCC label on the pallet matches the SSCC code in the advance shipping notice.

V4 – SSCC label cannot be scanned

Violation explanation:

The SSCC label could not be scanned. This can happen, for example, if the label is damaged or the print quality is insufficient.

Actions:

Make sure every shipping unit has a clearly readable and scannable SSCC label that meets the delivery requirements.

I have received a Yellow Card. What now?

With a yellow card the shipment has been accepted, but the delivery did not fully comply with the delivery conditions.

A yellow card serves as a Heads up!. Check your processes to determine whether it was a one-time deviation from the standard of if improvements need to be made.

I have received a Red Card, what now?

With a red card the shipment has been refused. To resubmit the shipment to one of the warehouses, action must be taken to resolve the reason for the refusal.
